The saying “take nothing but memories” is a great way to put your life in perspective, reminding us that it is important to appreciate all of the wonderful moments in our lives. We often take for granted the moments when we are in love, when we are younger, or when we accomplish something special. On the other hand, if we are not careful, we can easily forget about the good things in our lives and focus on all of the bad things. As an example, say you just lost your job or someone close to you has passed away.

It is unlikely that you will be able to remember every day that you have worked at your job in order to have a positive outlook on it. It is also unlikely that you will be able to remember every happy moment you have had with your loved one who has passed away. Instead, focus on the good times and keep those memories alive through writing down your favorite moments or writing down notes about all of the things you would like to remember once they are gone.

That way, you can always look back and remember those times with fondness.
